Journalists’ Association for Tourism-Nepal (JAT-Nepal) has signed a tripartite agreement with Salyan Tourism Committee of Kaski and Atalante Mountaineering and Trekking to declare Salyan village of Kaski as a ‘tourist village’.
JAT-Nepal President Devi Prasad Panta, Salyan Tourism Committee President Bal Bahadur KC and Zimba Zangbu Sherpa, managing director of Atalante Trekking & Mountaineering, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
Sita Giri, Member of Parliament of Kaski, and Surya Thapa, chief of Tourism Department of CPN-UML, were present on the occasion.
As per the agreement, Atalante will organize FAM trips of journalists recommended by JAT-Nepal in coordination with Salyan Tourism Committee. Similarly, journalists will promote the village and its tourism attractions through their respective media.
Speaking at the program, Member of Parliament Giri said she would take initiative for building necessary infrastructure in Salyan village.
Likewise, JAT-Nepal President Panta said they would promote the village through news reports and features throughout the year.
Speaking on the occasion, Zimba Zangbu Sherpa of Atalante Trekking said he would spare no effort to promote Salyan village at both home and abroad.
On the occasion, a French group started a unique ‘stone game’ at Salyan village. Locals are hopeful that the game will help to bring more tourists in Salyan village.
