Two Italians found dead in Kathmandu lodge

Italy FlagTwo Italian tourists have been founded dead in a Kathmandu lodge.

According to Metropolitan Police Circle, Janasewa, bodies of Luciano Traezza and Rita Melorio were found at Room No. 10 of Satkar Guest House in Lagan near the Kathmandu Durbar Square. The duo had been living n the lodge since December 11. They were seen last on Tuesday morning, according to the lodge owner.

The lodge owner had called the police after the tourists were not seen on Tuesday evening.
Police officials entered the room by breaking window panes of the room as the door was locked form inside. Both the bodies were found on bed.

Though the actual cause of death is yet to be ascertained, police suspect the duo died due to suffocation and gas poisoning. Police have found three LPG cylinders in the room.

Dambar Narsingh Rajbhandari, the owner of the lodge, said the duo often used to cook meals in their room.
All ventilators in the room were closed and there was no proper air passage in the room, police said. Officials of Italian consulate in Kathmandu are helping the police investigation. The bodies have been sent to TU Teaching Hospital for post mortem.

Lodge owner Rajbhandari said the duo was his regular clients.

Earlier, two Chinese tourists died of suffocation in their room in a Nagarkot hotel.
