A joint meeting of the associations held in Kathmandu on March 3 took the decision, according to TAAN. The committee has Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN), Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), Nepal Association of Rafting Agents (NARA), Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), Hotel Association Nepal (HAN), Nepal Association of Tour Operators (NATO), Society of Travel and Tour Operators-Nepal, PATA Nepal Chapter, and Expedition Operators Association of Nepal (EOAN) as members.
The associations have agreed to rotate chairmanship every six months. Each association will send its president, general secretary and chief executive officer in the committee.
“Travel trade associations will now have a common stance on pertinent issues related to our tourism industry. We will give valuable inputs to the government while drafting rules, regulations and policies for the tourism sector,” TAAN President Ramesh Dhamala said following selection of TAAN as the committee chair.
