Five members of Seven Summits Women Team have successfully climbed Mt Denali – tallest peak on North America.

Chunu Shrestha, Asha Kumari Singh, Nimdoma Sherpa and Pema Diki Sherpa as well as cameraperson Ang Thsering Lama reached the summit in the afternoon of June 24, according to information posted on sevensummitswomen.org.

Team leader Shaili Basnet as well as other members Pujan Acharya and Maya Gurung could not continue with the climb because of health and issues and logistics management.

The women have already climbed Mt Everest (Asia), Mt Kosciuszko/Targangil (Australia), Mt Elbrus (Europe), Mt Kilimanjaro (Africa) and Mt Aconcagua (South America).

The team will wrap up their record bid by climbing Vinson Massif – the highest peak on Antarctica – in December.
