Hunting season has begun at the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve — the only protected area in the country where licensed hunting is allowed.
Foreigners have started arriving at the reserve for hunting.
Nine groups have received permission for hunting in the reserve this season from the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation, according to a RSS report. They have been allotted separate blocks to hunt. In total, they can hunt 11 blue sheep and four Himalayan Tahrs.
The hunting season began from mid-September and will continue till mid-December.
