Domestic airline companies are reducing airfare from Wednesday.
Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN), the umbrella association of airline companies operating in Nepal, decided to decrease airfare on Sunday, after Nepali Oil Corporation (NOC) reduced the price of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF).
NOC has reduced the price of ATF by Rs 5 per liter, making it Rs 94 per liter.
With the fresh reduction in fuel surcharge, airfare to Simara and Dhangadhi has come down by Rs 53 and Rs 113, respectively, to Rs 2,597 and Rs 10,412. The rates are inclusive of applicable taxes.
Similarly, airfare of mountain flight has come down to Rs 8,825, while fare to Pokhara and Bhairahawa and Bharatpur has come down to Rs 4,146, Rs 5,199 and Rs 3,039, respectively. Likewise, flight price to Biratnagar, Bhadrapur, Nepalgunj and Janakpur now cost Rs 5,944, Rs 7,250, Rs 7,811 and Rs 3,520, respectively.
Airfares to Tumlingtar and Lukla have also come down to Rs 4,884 and Rs 3,780.
The government has allowed Airlines to hike or lower fuel surcharge if the price of ATF falls or goes up by a minimum of Rs 4 per liter.
