Fulbari Resort and Spa has signed management contract with Clarks Group of Hotels, paving the way for the Indian hotels chain to look after the overall management of the Pokhara-based five-star property for 10 years.
According to the hotel, the agreement to this effect was signed in October. Established in 1948, Clarks Group of Hotels is one of the oldest and fastest growing chain of hotels in India with 40 hotels in its network.
The Clarks Group will take over the entire management of Fulbari. It will market the hotel as ‘The Fulbari Resort & Spa—Member of Clarks Collection. “The resort’s main target will be to attract business and corporate clients and high-end travelers from India,” the hotel said in a statement.
Fulbari Resort and Spa is considered Nepal’s most luxurious and exclusive property. Built in 1998, the hotel ran into trouble when number of tourists started declining due to Maoist insurgency.
After the agreement, the resort has targeted annual occupancy of 80 percent. The average room rate will be at $200 per night. In addition, the new management has also been looking to bring in a new player to resume the Fulbari Casino.
