Pokhara hotels see booking cancellations

Hotels in Pokhara have reported massive withdrawals in room bookings. Most of these hotels had received 100 percent bookings for November and December.

Govt advised to hike Everest royalty fee

A study team has recommended to the government to hike royalty fee for Mt Everest to US $11,000 per person and scrap the existing group royalty system.

A study team has recommended to the government to hike royalty fee for Mt Everest to US $11,000 per person and scrap the existing group royalty system. It has suggested charging Rs 75,000 per person for Nepali climbers.

At present, royalty fee for Mt Everest ranges from $15,000-70,000 per expedition, depending on the number of members (maximum of seven). (more…)

The United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada have issued travel alerts to its citizens traveling to or living in Nepal during the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election. Nepal is holding CA election on November 19.
